Painting itself is a time-intensive engagement with myself: with what I miss, what I need, what I'm grateful for, what I want to hold onto, and what I cannot put into words. My work tends to move along the lines of gestures: touching, holding, looking. It is a form of attention to what emerges when you look closely. My pictures reveal the tension between outer strength and inner fragility. I value what is sensitive, tender, honest. It's precisely there, in that tenderness, that I find strength. I don't wish to explain or illustrate anything. I want to make something felt.
